Colourstart and Coversure ease insurance problem for salons.
Coversure Insurance, one of the leading U.K salon insurance providers and the only approved salon insurance provider to the National Hairdressers Federation has agreed with its insurance partners to accept colour start as an accepted method of screening out clients at risk of allergy to permanent hair colour.
Colour start usage remains covered for all salons by its own product indemnity insurance, but now clients of Coversure can rest assured that their own commercial insurance policy also provides separate cover for their salon operatives.
Coversure’s head of commercial operations, Mike Stephenson says “We see this as a major improvement as it enables our clients to operate an alternative method to the current colour manufactures’ recommendations.”
Nick Plunkett, commercial director of Trichocare, makers of Colourstart says;” If salons are not patch testing they will almost certainly find that their Insurance will not cover them. With the science behind Colourstart\'s unique technology and the business protection of Coversure this is the smartest and most professional solution for UK salons\".
He continued;” It is a difficult time for the industry, as allergy testing instructions seem to change all the time. This leads to confusion for the salons and more importantly their customers. The issue is becoming more serious and the alternative solutions seem to be increasingly complicated. Whatever the hair dye brand, with the Colourstart skin allergy test and the commercial insurance protection of Coversure, salons can rest assured they are covered.\"
Colourstart is the only standardised and practical method of screening out those customers most at risk of a severe allergic response to hair colour.
It is simple to apply and clients do not have to visit the salon in advance of a colour treatment for a skin test - it can be sent in the post or taken away at any time
Trichocare first introduced generic patch testing to the UK market 4 years
ago and now more than 3000 salons use the product as a core part of their
professional service.
