Using Colourstart

Because you can become hypersensitive at any time, this test must be carried out every time your hair is permanently coloured.

Peeling the protective layer from the patch

48 hours prior to your appointment, remove clear protective film from front of Colourstart.

Attaching the patch

Press firmly to the inner arm with the Colourstart logo face-down on clean, healthy, grease free skin (close to the elbow fold).

Wetting the patch

Wet the back of Colourstart thoroughly with either a wet sponge or water spray and leave for at least 20 seconds.

Removing the backing paper

Carefully slide off the backing paper.

Drying the patch

Pat dry with a tissue and leave Colourstart in place until your appointment.

PLEASE NOTE

If hypersensitivity (any unusual sensation, irritation redness, or swelling) appears within 48 hours, remove the transfer with ordinary domestic sticky tape and inform your salon.

If you are unsure of the result of your test, consult your salon for further tests.

If hypersensitivity occurs, do not use and hair dye.

The patch test will withstand normal bathing activity. However, please avoid prolonged immersion in water and do not apply any type of skin product to the area.

WORDS OF WARNING

  • Do not apply to sensitive, inflamed or broken skin.
  • Caution: contains paraphenlenediamin and resorcinol.
  • Do not use if you have previously experienced sensitivity to hair dyes.
  • Keep Colourstart of of the reach of children - it is not a toy.
  • Colourstart must be applied to your skin at least 48 hours prior to each and every salon appointment.
  • The patch test will be removed by your hairdresser.
  • The test must be removed by the operator using normal domestic sticky tape.
